Joey's Fans Hold Rally At Radio Disney Offices

On February 29, 2008 the front of the Disney Channel Building located in Burbank, California was covered with teenage girls holding fluorescent colored posters protesting for their favorite new pop artist, Joey Page, to be played on the networks Radio Disney station, which targets the "tween" pop market. Beginning on February 23, 2008, Radio Disney began featuring teenage pop artist, Joey Page, as their "Incubator" artist with a commercial interview airing on the station for a two week period. During this time period fans flooded the Radio Disney request line hoping to hear Joey's song "Turn It Up". A group of teenage girls in the Los Angeles area realized it was going to take more than just telephone and e-mail requests to get Radio Disney to take notice, so on February 28, 2008 Joey’s loyal fans held an assembly with over 800 students at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California encouraging students to request Joey Page on Radio Disney. The next day a large group stood outside the Disney Channel building which is home to the Radio Disney headquarters to rally for the station to add Joey's song "Turn It Up" to the radio stations regular rotation. Joey’s fans caught the attention of the Radio Disney executives and now due to the high volume of requests and strong demand, Radio Disney started playing Joey Page’s song “Turn It Up”.
